Day 16: A long bike ride

Day 16Today’s training was supposed to be a 30 mile “moderate” ride. This meant roughly 2 hours of riding for me. The trick is always to get out early so that I don’t eat too much into family time. Unfortunately I was only able to get in 25 miles—the roads were wet and I ended up adding more elevation to the ride so it ended up being slower than I wanted. Nonetheless, the ride felt good. The training is definitely making a difference in riding. I was able to hold more sustained power, for longer periods of time. Ultimately I need to be able to do 25 mile rides below the hour-and-a-half mark.

Tomorrow’s fun brings a long swim and a long run.
